Although a less formalised programme of charitable giving has always been in place at Appleyard Lees, in 2021 we launched a new charitable giving framework to ensure we made maximum impact for a specific good cause. Each year, Appleyard Lees supports an organisation that creates or enables innovation that makes life better, through a programme of planned events designed to meet the needs of the specific organisation.
This year we have chosen to support Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death charity) as they directly fund innovation, operate nationally, and help those affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth.
In 2022, although it may not have strictly fit the brief, we supported The British Red Cross to help its humanitarian efforts assisting those displaced or otherwise affected by war.
Our chosen charity for 2021 was Devices for Dignity, for which we raised several thousand pounds over the year. D4D is a not-for-profit group that acts as a catalyst for the development of innovative medical devices, healthcare technologies and technology-dependent interventions for people with long-term, life-affecting conditions.
