Hugh has an extensive patent and trade mark practice, acting for large multinational companies and foreign attorneys, particularly in the Asia Pacific area.

Hugh specialises in engineering with a particular interest in medical devices, aircraft technology and automotive areas. He has represented many companies in the filing, prosecution, oppositions and appeals at the European Patent Office (EPO). With over 15 years experience in Asia, Hugh has travelled extensively in the region and has built a number of key relationships with foreign attorneys and companies.

Previously an examiner for UK patent attorney final examinations, and a tutor for candidates for the European patent attorney qualifying examination (EQE), Hugh is highly experienced and a great asset to our trainee attorneys. He has also been a visiting lecturer at Leicester University on intellectual property (IP) and has given various talks on IP matters.
