Ithel obtains IP rights that prove to be valuable assets for his clients. He has a track record of successfully obtaining patents for software technology that’s considered complex or marginal in terms of patentability.
Ithel works with a variety of clients, including multinationals, universities and start-ups.
He was one of the first patent attorneys holding a pure Computer Science degree in the UK intellectual property profession and has over 20 years’ experience of patenting software-implemented inventions at the UK Intellectual Property Office and the European Patent Office.
Ithel’s patent filings in the computing and electronics fields cover a broad spectrum of technologies, from telecommunications, sensor networks and storage systems through to gaming, fintech and mobile apps.
He also has extensive experience of patenting mechanical inventions and providing clients with a full range of IP services, including advising on enforcement and commercialisation of IP rights.
Ithel holds a Computer Science BSc degree from Swansea University, where he was awarded the Bosch Prize in Computer Science for the best final year project, which covered the historical development of programming languages.
He also has an MSc in Management of IP from the University of London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Electronic Engineering from Cardiff University.
