As a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney, Louise works with clients to protect their innovation in the UK, Europe and worldwide.

Louise works on a broad range of inventions in the fields of physics, engineering, electronics and software and has particular experience in printing and imaging, as well as medical devices.

Louise has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications for a diverse range of clients, including working with universities and in-house IP departments.  Louise also advises SMEs and larger corporations in relation to patentability, infringement and validity.

Louise joined the patent profession in 2014 having completed a PhD in Liquid Crystal Physics at the University of Manchester. Her thesis focussed on the interactions of smectic liquid crystal molecules in electric fields and her research was published in the Journal of Materials Chemistry. During her training towards her professional patent qualifications, Louise won the Strode Prize and the Ballantyne Prize for achieving the highest marks in examinations for ‘Advanced IP Law and Practice’ and ‘Infringement and Validity’.
